The working culture in EY was very collaborative, and the teams I worked on were very patient and welcoming to the interns! They taught us a lot and shared their experiences inside and outside of the work place.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship had been longer because it was only 8 weeks long, including a week of training, a week at the internship conference, and a week off for the 4th of July.
Advice
Take advantage of the resources given to you at the firm, whether it is the peer advisors and counselors or the people on your engagement team. Don't be afraid to ask questions when you're stuck, and you'll learn a lot!

Audit Intern

What I liked
I loved the work I did, the people I worked with, and the clients I worked on. They also sent us to Orlando, Florida for a week for a conference and we got to go to Disneyworld.
What I wish was different
There was quite a bit of down time where they didn't have anything for the interns to do so there were times where I didn't have anything to do.
Advice
Always have a positive attitude, always be willing to stay late if they need you, always be willing to learn and ask questions.

FSO Assurance Summer Intern
June - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
EY really made this internship experience memorable! Not only was everyone I encountered super friendly and willing to answer any questions I had, but EY also hosted a lot of networking events to allow me to network and meet many people in the company. The one week training program was very beneficial in getting me familiar with what kind of work I would be doing on a day to day basis and, once assigned to a team, my team was very helpful in walking me through the audit process so that I understood why I was assigned specific tasks.
What I wish was different
Advice
I would say definitely ask any questions you have and don't be afraid to reach out to anyone in the company to get to know them and what brought them to EY! Just be yourself!!

Public Accounting Intern
June - August 2019 • San Jose, CA
What I liked
It was great to get real world public accounting experience. I had no idea what I would be doing in my career after college, but being an intern gave me an idea of what to expect.
What I wish was different
I do wish there was more structure and guidance. Often, I would be thrown into an audit engagement and would have to depend on my audit team to teach me. Depending on the team I was paired with, I could learn a lot or hardly anything.
Advice
I would let anyone who is interested in interning with a public accounting firm know that they should act enthusiastic throughout the experience. The firm expects you to not know anything when you enter, so they depend on you to be willing to learn.

Launch Intern
June 2018 • Boston, MA
What I liked
I really enjoyed the company culture at EY as well as being able to work in teams as an intern and get insight into what it would be like to work at Ey
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to stay a bit longer and do client work but I understand that comes at a later stage.
Advice
To go in with a positive attitude and maintain it. I think that the most important thing was attitude because the firm won't really be able to judge your technical ability at such an early stage but they can judge by whether or not you left a good impression on your team.
