Product Development Intern

General Description: Engage in Product Management work process interactions as they relate to the ingredient approval, products concepts and product and category performance. 

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with PD team to creates Sales Sheets
  • Review internal documents for consistency and accuracy
  • Work with team members to address elevated customer issues involving product and ingredient questions/concerns; provide timely responses
  • Provide technical and research support for Product Managers in the investigation of ingredients and new product opportunities
  • Provide technical and research support for ingredient and product concepts
  • Work with Category Manger to review and analyze product performance
  • Develop understanding of the process to assess and vet new product opportunities to determine viability, dosage, regulatory compliance, and scientific validation
  • Identify and recommend existing products for upgrades, improvements or promotional opportunities
  • Work with suppliers on getting key technical information related to active and inactive ingredients
  • Work closely with QA/QC to gain understanding on how to analyze and evaluate clinical and laboratory research as it applies to the formulation and delivery of new and existing products
  • Analyze clinical research and organize findings into IAR’s to determine future ingredient viability
  • Provide administrative support to Product Development and Discovery Research
  • Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Additional duties as needed

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative is strongly preferred 
  • Actively enrolled Junior/Senior or recent alumni from a fully accredited College/University; pursing Master’s degree a plus
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required
  • Able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency 
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently within a matrix environment where tight timelines exist
