Basic Research Summer Intern

Carpenter Co. has a 12 week Research and Development summer internship at our Reinhart Technical Center in Richmond, Virginia. This full time internship position will begin May 27, 2025.

As the successful intern, you will be providing lab research functions under the guidance and supervision of a senior mentor.  Throughout the internship you will conduct basic lab experiments. 

Your additional responsibilities as Research Intern will include:

  • Perform basic lab experiments as outlined by supervisor
  • Collect / Record / Report data
  • Interpret data and draw conclusions
  • Document findings in report format

Skills/ Requirements

  • Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of 2 years of college or university in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Completion of 2 semesters of college laboratory curriculum
  • Able to perform rudimentary chemical lab experiments under management and safety direction
  • Basic understanding and use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
