Millennium Fellowship

The United Nations Academic Impact and MCN proudly present the Millennium Fellowship. This program convenes, challenges, and celebrates student leadership for UN goals.

The Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program that happens on your campus. The United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are here to elevate your leadership.

In 2023, 4000+ Millennium Fellows collectively advanced all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, contributed 475,000+ hours to 1,906 projects, and positively impacted the lives of over 1.3 million people in 38 nations. Over 52,000 young leaders on 6,000+ campuses across 170+ nations applied to join the Class of 2024. This is a robust global network and undergraduates worldwide are invited to apply for the Class of 2025.

How it works:

Convene: As part of a cohort of 8-20+ Millennium Fellows on your campus, convene to learn from and challenge each other. Millennium Fellows convene at least 8 times during the program.

Challenge: Develop a plan of action for your sessions together. Meet to exchange best practices. And you could think bigger: organizing a campus-wide sustainability initiative or more.

Celebrate: When your Fellowship Campus meets the goals you made for yourselves and completed the Fellowship graduation requirements, you will earn a certificate of recognition from United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network.

Note: This is a civic leadership accelerator, not a paid position. Millennium Fellows earn recognition and world-class training at no cost. The opportunity takes place on your own campus and also includes a virtual experience with universities around the world.
