2025 Summer Internship

Job Summary:

The Summer Intern is involved in a wide variety of projects that provide a foundation on which a successful career can be built. Our diversity of work and discipline affords the Summer Intern the opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of the land development process, from concept to construction.  As a multidiscipline firm, we offer a collaborative environment in which the Summer Intern has the unique opportunity to interact, learn, and grow every day in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Our diversity of work affords our interns the opportunity to be involved with a wide variety of projects that provide a foundation on which a successful career can be built.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the department in daily activities specific to that discipline
  • Contribute to various unique projects, all of which are real and not hypothetical, under the mentoring of licensed engineers, architects, landscape architects and land surveyors

Benefits:

Opportunities are available throughout our Virginia locations: Richmond, Roanoke, Shenandoah Valley and the New River Valley. Our internships are paid, and students who come from out of state will receive a housing stipend to help cover their living expenses during the internship period. This support is provided to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent qualified candidates from participating in our program. Interns receive ongoing training and interaction throughout the summer, including opportunities to come together for teambuilding, networking and FUN.

Required Skills and Education:

  • Familiarity with industry specific concepts and software (including, but not limited to, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Carlson depending on discipline)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Valid Virginia drivers license and a satisfactory driving record
  • College coursework towards an industry specific degree required
  • Internships are limited to rising college juniors, seniors and graduate students

  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain an organized approach to your work.
  • Productivity: Consistently meet or exceed performance expectations while staying focused and managing workload efficiently.
  • Quality: Deliver high-quality work with attention to detail, continuously seeking improvement in output.
