Summer 2025 Global CIQ Intern
Summary:
In this role, you will support efforts to improve overall efficiency at our Friendly, WV site (and other PA locations globally as needed) through utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools under the direction of the Global CIQ Black Belt. You will also complete trend analyses on defect data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with CIQ BB to translate gaps identified from tools/processes such as Operational Excellence Maturity Model, Management Operating System (MOS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Customer Complaints, Out of Spec/Slow Moving Inventory (OOS/SMI) and GLIMS into CI projects with quantifiable results.
- Perform data mining/hypothesis testing to identify trends in Operations and Quality data in support of Lean Six Sigma projects
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to identify products and test methods that are opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and lead projects as needed
- Present project outcomes to site leadership and global Quality organization.
- Become White Belt certified through project work and required training.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Knowledge of basic statistics and/or successful completion of university-level mathematics courses
- Computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Minitab or other statistical analysis tools are preferred.
- Attention to detail – ability to document new processes and procedures.
- Self-starter – Proactively identify new opportunities to drive efficiencies in Quality and Service at Friendly, WV site
- Prior experience training or teaching technical topics to small groups is considered a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
Program Requirements:
- The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
- The candidate is expected to be available to work in person 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks between May and August.
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical field such as Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics
**Students enrolled in a Graduate degree level program are eligible to receive a higher rate than the range listed below. Master's rate: $32/hr; PhD rate: $37/hr

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
