R&D Chemistry Laboratory Intern
The R&D Chemistry Laboratory Intern is responsible for performing in-lab compliance testing to support the Pet Chemical team of Global Pet Care R&D. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a chemistry R&D lab for the CPG industry. This position must always comply with company policies, safe work practices, and maintain a safe work environment.
Testing, Analysis and Laboratory Responsibilities (80%)
- Assist in the preparation of new product samples under guidance of senior team members
- Conduct stability tests and analysis based on standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Collect, label, and confirm proper storage of raw materials
- Contribute to the maintenance and organization of the lab, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while handling raw materials and operating testing equipment
Documentation and Meeting (20%)
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook for all projects
- Record product test results and generate testing certificates
- Perform literature review to support product development
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and findings
Education and Experience Profile
- High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or Biology
- 0-2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment
Required Skills
- Basic proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
- Eagerness to learn and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
