Safety Assistant

The Department of Chemistry is seeking someone interested in helping to improve the safety culture of our department. The duties of this role include:

•       Weekly checks and flushing of emergency eyewash stations
•       Inspection of other safety equipment
•       Assisting faculty in setting up and cleaning out lab areas
•       Sending unused items for surplus
•       Helping upload and manage the department’s Safety Data Sheet database
•       Assist in assembling items
•       Working with research groups to facilitate safety campaigns
•       Aiding in chemical waste removal
•       Helping in the stock room as needed

Some knowledge of chemistry and research laboratories is preferred, but not required. MUST HAVE WORK STUDY FUNDING!
