Undergraduate Researcher for credit – Smart building and construction

Dr. Ruichuan Zhang at the Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC) at Virginia Tech is looking for undergraduate researchers for credit from MLSoC, CEE, CS, ECE, ISE, Architecture, or other related engineering, science, or design fields to participate in research projects on smart building and construction. Specifically, we will deploy smart sensors, collect data from homes, buildings, and/or construction sites as well as human subjects, develop data visualization applications, or formulate machine learning models to investigate how the environment and humans impact each other.

The prospective student should have some experience in Python programming and basic knowledge of data analysis and/or machine learning. Students will gain experience in smart building and construction, machine learning, data curation, data analysis, scientific presentation, and publication.

Project assignments will be determined based on the student's experience and knowledge. The project can result in credit hours toward Independent Studies or Undergraduate Research.
