Chemist Technician Co-op/Intern

Onsite – Carlsbad, New Mexico (PO Box 71 - 1361 Potash Mines Road - Carlsbad, NM 88220)

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hrs a week on site.


Chemist Technician Co-op/Intern

The Chemist Technician Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assisting in the analysis of routine and non-routine samples and will be assigned to projects focused on improving the Quality Control Lab and instrumentation.  Our student opportunities offers competitive pay, relocation package and the opportunity to work with a global leader.


What will you do? 

  • Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working in the Quality Control Lab including analysis of Production, mining and shipping samples
  • Calibration and maintenance of QC Lab instruments including ICP-OES and Xray Diffraction
  • Engage in self-development to enrich your skillset to fulfill your career aspirations.  


What do you need for this role?

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related degree preferred
  • XRD instrument experience considered an asset
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
  • Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
