WORK LOCATION: Aurora, IL
This is a fall 2024 co-op, beginning in June/July, ending in December.
Core Purpose:
This is a lab-based opportunity focusing on assisting in the synthesis and characterization of new set of polymers and series of potential biobased surfactant monomers.
In this role, you will:
This role will synthesize and characterize new polymers and potential surfactant replacement target molecules.
You're a good fit if you have:
Hands on research experience in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry in academic environment
Experience in polymer characterization will be preferred but not necessary.
Desired Major & Graduation Date:
Rising Senior or MS student pursuing a degree in general or organic Chemistry graduating Spring or Fall 2025, with organic synthesis and analytical chemistry skills.
Your success will be measured by:
The prospective candidate will be challenged to reach beyond their classroom chemistry knowledge and relate theoretical chemistry to real-life chemistry of materials. Success will be measured by how much knowledge they would have gained at the end of the program through a presentation of their work.
