ARS SEA Athens UNSPRC Biological Science Laboratory Technician (Athens, GA) Summer 2024

USDA Agricultural Research Service is currently recruiting for an Biological Science Laboratory Technician at U.S. National Poultry Research Center : USDA ARS in Athens, GA for Summer 2024. Log different feed and feed ingredients received in the lab.
Prepare samples such as grinding and weighing feed ingredients (mainly corn, soybeans and wheat). Analyze nutritional content of ground samples using NIR machine. Assist with sample extraction/cleaning process to run on LC/MS.Skills in general chemistry tasks (reagent preparation, standard preparation, titration, dilution, extraction). Assist with experiments on using organic acids and essential oils to control mycotoxins in corn and feed samples.
