Reasearch & Development Intern

The Co-op Process Engineer position exists as a developmental support position for Kraton U. S. R&D Lab and plant Quality Control teams. The position will help enable product and process innovation in Kraton’s flagship commercial manufacturing and pilot plant facilities. Also, the Co-Op process Engineer will Collaborate with several R&D labs in Kraton’s global network and with manufacturing personnel to achieve business targets. 

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Assess and troubleshoot polymer-manufacturing processes using analytical and engineering tools. 
  • Support pilot- and commercial-scale test runs and provide data analysis and technical recommendations. 
  • Develop and assess manufacturing processes for new-product development projects. 
  • Contribute to deployment of research work and improvement of existing processes/products.

Education:
  • Students seeking Bachelor’s degree in Polymer or Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemistry.
  • A current undergraduate or graduate-level student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Polymer or Chemical Engineering or related technical field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
