Quality Engineering Intern


 

 

The Quality Engineering internship is located in Manassas, Virginia. The internship is 3 to 9 months and will start as soon as January 2023. To be qualified for the internship, applicants must be willing to relocate to the Manassas area for the entire internship and remain enrolled in coursework through their university. 

  

Operations: 

  • Perform the inspection and verification of materials required by Micron Quality Management System in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Identify materials which do not meet criteria and work with cross-functional teams to determine the cause and disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Suggest improvements to broaden scope, improve timeliness, or yield better results of the incoming quality control (IQC) process, with reasonable projects goals and timelines.
  • The IQC organization will support ongoing company activities to improve these processes.  

 
Projects: 

  • Work to analyze area performance on various manufacturing quality metrics including process control parameters, SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Help Engineering/technician staff automate reporting and improvement activities.  Use programing to query and format information to create actionable reports.
  • Performs engineering analyses, technical reviews, calculations, on area improvement projects.

  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability, Standard Deviation
  • Knowledge of programing / database query and charting is desirable.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and organize diverse groups of stake holders and multitasking
  • Excellent writing/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Accomplished computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and database experience
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver concrete project deliverables in a timely manner

 
Education 

Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in Chemistry; Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering; or another relevant major.
