Summer Intern- Chemical Sciences

A summer internship at Afton Chemical will give a student exposure to our professional work environment and provide a learning experience where you can practically apply knowledge that has been gained in the classroom. With functional areas in chemistry and engineering, Afton recruits top students from all over the world. The project seeks to expand methodology around corrosion of metals using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of steel substrates on the presence and absence of water and how lubricant components interact in these environments. This project will build upon our prior knowledge in EIS for copper corrosion for driveline applications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Rising Sophomore or Junior
- Studying Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, ideally with a focus on mathematics
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate and network to problem solve
- Organized with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong analytical skills
