Internships in Gaithersburg, MD (Multiple Openings)

The Internships will be a 10–12 week summer program. This is a paid, full time (40 hours/week) position at the Strategic Research & Development Center located at 1 Medimmune Way, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Over the course of the summer, each intern will perform department specific day to day activities as assigned by their supervisor.  Each intern will also be assigned a key project of which they will be responsible for leading, executing and reporting out to relevant project parties. Supervisors will guide and coach interns throughout the summer. Interns will also have the opportunity for professional development like various lunch & learns, cohort events, ERG partnerships, and community service.

Roles will continue to be posted from now through early November as intern supervisors submit requests.

 

Intern roles at Gaithersburg typically fall under the following functional areas:

  • Research & Development (both wet and dry bench). Previous areas include, but are not limited to:
    • Cell Cultures & Fermentation
    • Drug Dosage
    • Biologics and Protein Engineering
    • Discovery Sciences (Oncology, Bioanalysis, etc.)
    • Bioinformatics
    • Molecular Biology
    • Computational Chemistry
  • Data Science, Modelling, AI/Machine Learning, and Analytics
  • Finance
  • Drug Marketing
  • MBA
  • Corporate Affairs & External Communications

 

Individual requirements vary by role. The below are applicable to all:

  • Studying to complete Bachelor’s degree or higher; in an area related to the role
    • Master's and Doctoral students strongly encouraged to apply!
    • It is expected that suitable candidates will return to schooling at the end of Summer 2024
  • Basic understanding of technical areas related to functional area of internship position.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
