Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) is a 2-year rotational development program in manufacturing focused on developing and accelerating technical expertise across the Supply Chain. Engineers in the MEDP will work in manufacturing engineering assignments to gain experience through a mix of on-the-job training and classroom education structured to provide a foundation of technical and leadership skills. You'll complete two 12-month rotations to cultivate opportunities for exposure to various technical disciplines and engineering responsibilities. In addition, the MEDP will foster mentorship and structured learning opportunities with our team of manufacturing experts. Description- Process Engineer, Tow Coating

  • Provide technology support for tow coating processes in Huntsville Tape Plant.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring process health, performing process data analysis, assisting in new process and product introductions, managing trials, supporting PSR’s, presenting to change control boards (e.g., RMMRB, CCB), assisting in/ leading RCCA’s, updating and drafting process documentation, and participating in regular PFMEA reviews and updates. 
  • Own a long-term project. 
  • General: Business/ value stream learning and exposure, daily management/ ownership specific to function, long-term project specific to the function. 
  • Technical: CMC’s, change control, TPC/ experimentation, RCCA, data analytics (DMAIC or SPC), specifications and process documentation.

Quantifiable Job Outcomes 

  • Measurable improvements in Quality, Delivery, and/or Cost achieved through execution of statistical process control (SPC), process study, data analytics, new process and/ or technology introductions, trials, and/or other technology-related efforts. 

Additional Learning Opportunities 

  • Six Sigma and Lean problem-solving tools, APQP, data analytics (including Spotfire and Alation), CMC's, Process Safety Management (PSM)

Desired Qualifications 

  • Six Sigma training, familiarity with statistical analysis tools and approaches, experience with statistical process control (SPC). 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Training in or experience with chemical processes. 
  • Familiarity with quality systems.

The base salary for this position is set at $76,000 and this position is eligible for a target bonus of 5% of base salary. Relocation support is available for qualified moves to a new city. Performance-based salary increases are reviewed after each completed rotation.
