GE Aerospace Research - Manufacturing & Inspection Fellow Internship

As a Fellow Intern in the Advanced Manufacturing Lab, you will work with a team of researchers to advance the state of the art of Manufacturing and Inspection technologies for the benefit of GE Aerospace and its customers.

 

You will:

Contribute to the development and optimization of inspection, traditional manufacturing, and additive manufacturing processes for productivity, cost, and performance.

Support defining process parameters, operating of lab equipment to perform experiments, recording experimental results and observations, and generating reports.

Use MS Office and develop algorithms in MATLAB, Python, or other software languages, for the analysis, signal processing, and mathematical manipulation of experimental results.

Help develop and run manufacturing and inspection process simulation models to improve the process capabilities.

Develop CAD to generate tool path framework for facilitating multi-axis motion for inspection and manufacturing applications.

Use CAD software packages to design experimental test setups and fixtures.

An internship with us will provide valuable hands-on experience to help you launch your career in industrial research.  Intern assignments are typically for 12-14 weeks; working side by side with experts in the field of mechanical engineering, completing challenging technical projects and applying theoretical knowledge to real-life technical problems.  This program includes seminars on cross-center technology and soft skills development as well as opportunities for networking and showcasing project accomplishments.  
 

Required Qualifications

Current enrollment in a full-time Ph.D. degree program in Engineering, Physi or related disciplines at an ABET accredited university

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0 scale
