Internship duration and hours: Summer 2024 5/20/2024-8/2/2024
38.75 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Office Location(s): Bloomington, IL; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ
This is a "Hybrid" position, which means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both, in-office and from their home.

Responsibilities
The P&C Actuarial and Underwriting Modeling (PCM) department at State Farm is a place where interns complete innovative, meaningful research in a collaborative environment focused on developing technical and business skills - a perfect complement to the classroom.
We are looking for innovative individuals who are self-starters and like being part of a team to develop and implement creative solutions. We have a growing and evolving infrastructure of applications that include development in Python and Java combined with leveraging containers and AWS for implementation.

Qualifications
We Are Looking for Candidates with:
- Ability to build new and/ or modify existing software to meet business and technical requirements through web based software component designing, coding, testing, and quality review
- Experience with Python or Java development
- Experience with Restful Web services
- Experience with AWS is preferred, but is not required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, leadership and critical thinking skills
- A 3.25 GPA cumulative and in major is required. A GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be a college student, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Data Science, Mathematics & Engineering or a related field
