CO-OP, External Ventures Analyst

Saint-Gobain NOVA is the Strategic Corporate Venture Capital arm of Saint-Gobain. We invest in innovative startups with strategic relevance to Saint-Gobain in target areas such as construction technology, circular economy, electric mobility, industrial energy transition & Digital transformation. With offices in United States, France & China. We cover all geographies of the world looking for leading startups with exciting technologies and business models which we support as investors as well as through strategic collaborations with Saint-Gobain business units. 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:  

This role will be ideal for those interested in Corporate Venture Capital activities. You
will have the opportunity to participate in various aspects of the venture
capital process and to immerse yourself in the tech ecosystem while
contributing to the growth of NOVA. You will join the North America team based
at Saint-Gobain Innovation center in Northboro, MA as a Corporate Venture
Analyst co-op & your main job duties will include: 

1.      New Technology watch and market intelligence 
a.      Building market maps of startups operating within the scope
of target areas  
b.      Interacting with SG Technology Information Services, the
Techno-Marketing Team to complement the analysis. 
c.      Conduct market and sector analysis, competitive
positioning, technical feasibility, and other areas critical to investment
evaluation 
2.      Nova deal flow & pipeline management  
a.      Support on current investment files & governance
(Salesforce, MS Teams etc.) 
b.      Project Management investment processes from deal sourcing
to diligence and execution 
c.      Support efforts to deliver to Saint-Gobain business leaders
an outside-in view 
3.      Collaborating with NOVA team members based in Paris, USA
and Shanghai to support their target area strategies, analysis and deployment 
4.      Support with portfolio management, marketing &
communications activities.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in and pursuing an MS, PhD or MBA degree program in a STEM related discipline 
  • Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive & work independently 
  • Effective communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem
solving 
  • Knowledge of the tech ecosystem and experience in the sector

  • Anticipated position start date in July for six-month co-op opportunity.
