Job Description:
L3Harris corporation is seeking a dynamic Production Lead to shape Payload Integration and Test activities for mission critical space sensors. Role will have an immediate impact on the future of responsive space, by developing production strategies, influencing facility layouts, and producing process to rapidly field highly reliable lifesaving optical payloads.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Interfacing with design teams to enhance Design for Manufacturability and Test (DFMAT)
  • Develops manufacturing strategy for specific products and processes
  • Planning and requesting staffing/equipment/process resources
  • Developing Integrated Master Scheduled (IMS) milestones for assembly integration and test tasks and provides status to program team and Operations leadership
  • Designing and developing manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems
  • Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs and schedules, along with initiating Continuous Improvement activities
  • Maintains records and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations
  • Engages with design engineering, program management and IPT leads during program development and proposal activities to clearly define Operations work scope  
  • Performs production analysis and capacity planning studies to derive execution plans and recommend areas for improvement.
 Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to communicate within and outside of own function or business area.
  • Ability to explain, interpret, and gain cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Operations leadership capacity (i.e. Group Lead,
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Manufacturing/Operations tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and sustain measurable results
  • Strong background in Lean/Six-Sigma process improvement methodologies including:
  • Ability to coach, mentor and build relationships
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas
  • Experience in development and/or R&D Manufacturing Environments
  • 5S Activities
  • Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke
  • Kanban systems
  • Factory Gemba walk process
  • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
