Intern - Communications (Utility/Water & Sewer)
The City of Manassas invites applications for an internship opportunity with our Water & Sewer Department at the Manassas Water Plant.
This internship focuses primarily on communications within our Water and Sewer Department, researching customer inquiries and identifying appropriate data and information to creatively share with the public.
Flexible Summer schedule Monday through Friday at 30 hours per week. The internship is projected to begin the last week of May.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists with planning of projects including: reviewing engineering plans, reviewing property records, and developing scopes of work.
Creates and distribute Lead Service Line public communications material including mailing materials and sampling videos.
Tracks customer responses.
Investigates customer complaints.
Answer customer questions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
The candidate must be currently enrolled in a college or graduate level science curriculum with successful completion of Communications and/or Graphic Design courses. Must have experience in using Microsoft Office software, graphic design software. Must also have the ability to follow department safety regulations, guidelines, and practices. Incumbent must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
