Associate
YHB is looking for a candidate who is ready to start their first year as an accountant with a public accounting firm! As a 1st Year Associate, YHB provides a diverse, well-rounded, technical experience and be actively involved in audit, tax and consulting engagements. Associates are assigned projects and engage with clients beginning as early as their first week! Associates gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and segments and are empowered to start their career on the path that is best suited for them.
As an Associate Accountant you will be able to...
- Gain audit expertise
- prepare complete workpapers in conformity with standards
- Ensure assigned sections have been completed, including after leaving the client site
- Assist the Supervisor with wrap-up through the completion of the engagement
- Gain tax expertise
- Develop basic fundamental tax compliance skills and knowledge for level 1 federal and state tax forms
- Review prepared returns for any errors and omissions
- Ability to follow established tax departmental procedures
- Establish a network of client and business contacts and seek ways to increase YHB visibility among peers
- Prepare for and complete CPA exam
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or relevant field
- Requirements to achieve the CPA certification
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- A dedication to teamwork and leadership
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
