The Failure Analysis Team is seeking a motivated candidate to provide support to our Quality Department located at ADI’s Wilmington Massachusetts Campus. The responsibilities of the intern are to perform physical analysis on electronic products and packages. This work will include the use of multiple advanced analysis tools including Real Time 2D and 3D X-ray, Scanning Electron Microscopes, Focused Ion Beams, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy and various mechanical polishing tools. The intern will also be responsible for data analysis, cataloging and documenting these results as well as presenting their findings to the development groups.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Operation
  • 2D and 3D X-ray System Operation
  • Focused Ion Beam (FIB) System Operation
  • Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) System Operation
  • Mechanical Polishing Equipment Operation
  • Data Analysis and Documentation of results
Minimum qualifications

  • Candidate should be an enrolled college student in good standing and pursuing a course of study in the following discipline: engineering, the physical sciences or science in general.
  • List 3-5 bullets of ideal candidate/skills
  • Laboratory Experience
  • Familiarity with measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export  licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.  As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
