ADFORS GlasGrid and GlasPave product line offers several styles of pavement reinforcement. The geogrids can be used as full lane pavement reinforcement or isolated crack repair reinforcement. As this product line is easy to mill and has recyclable properties, it indirectly supports the reduction of CO2 emissions.

On this assignment, the person will support mainly (2) projects, considering new product developments. Within the projects, the main scope of each one will be:

1. Fatigue Testing: Establish competency in preparing consistent, lab fatigue test method (shrinkage-bend test), run some DOEs to verify the best design of new product developments

2. Thermo-mechanical testing: Characterization of material: Analyze results for thermal stability in desired temp ranges (DSC) and inplane dimensional stability (TMA), installation testing: Analyze results from manufacturing and focus on adhesion properties

COMPETENCIES:

·        Have a creative problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach, considering thermo mechanical and fatigue testing, as shrinkage bend test, TMA, DSC, Adhesion
·        Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
·        Work safely and effectively with a diverse R&D team actively supporting a culture of safety
·        Capable of working independently and with project teams
·        Comfortable with a “hands-on” approach to getting things done
·        Ability to communicate through oral presentations and written reports clearly and confidently

REQUIREMENTS:

·        Currently enrolled as a student in a MS or PhD program in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, textile engineering, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
·        Knowledge of pavements - fatigue and or thermo mechanical testing desirable.
·        Ability to analyze data, perform DOEs and write reports in a clear way
·        Experience with formulation preparation and characterization is preferred
·        Experience with mechanical and or fatigue testing preferred
