Data Analyst Intern, REAC Front Office

HUD is currently accepting applications for progressive thinkers who are looking for an entry-level student position performing a variety of assignments related to routine data management and analyses of data including programmatic and workforce data analysis. The incumbent will provide support to senior staff in the oversight of data systems, and provision of workforce support services required for the operation of the program office.  
Responsibilities:  Supports and assists with performing daily administrative functions, such as daily updates to the PMS and any HR data reporting systems, as well as system enhancements.
Develops and maintains or assists in the development and maintenance of a variety of reports for management in order to track workforce planning related data such as hiring, productivity, engagement, and or attrition.
Conducts research and analysis related to observable conditions concerning the program area in which the incumbent is assigned. Incumbent gathers and organizes clearly defined information as related to workforce management; analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data using computer software; and develops information to provide to management based on the data collected.
Maintains or assists in maintaining and revising the Access databases and Excel tools.
Runs or assists with running queries using intermediate Microsoft (MS) Access Structured Query Language (SQL) methods. Manipulates data and generates reports using Microsoft Access SQL.
Provides input on communication documents that inform stakeholders and employees of organizational activities and accomplishments.
Conducts routine workforce management and administrative analyses, reports, surveys, inquiries, and evaluations.
Supports and assists senior staff with data management reports and analyses to plan and conduct studies which evaluate and recommend ways to improve workforce management operations.
Assist senior staff with the oversight of data systems, and provision of workforce support services required for the operation of the program office.
Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications: Excellent oral, written, visual, and organizational communication skills with strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively. Eagerness to explore state and local government-associated laws, rules, and regulations. Strong research and documentation skills.
