The Immunology Research Unit focus on identification of novel targets and development of therapeutics to treat diseases of the immune system.

Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated student with interest in cellular and molecular immunology to join our group. In this laboratory-based position, the selected candidate will be exposed to in vitro cell culture techniques, basic and cutting edge cellular and molecular biology techniques and the opportunity to support early drug discovery projects with a focus on autoimmune disease. The candidate will have the opportunity to perform hands-on experiments in collaboration with senior scientists, participate on meetings, scientific discussions and present data at internal meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Pursuing a MS or PhD degree in biological sciences (biology, immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology or related fields).
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6 months co-op (January-June 2023).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a PhD or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to present results at team meetings.
  • Flexible, focused, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of cell biology. Immunology and/or pharmacology background would be a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the scientific method. Previous laboratory experience would be preferred.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
  • Must provide your own funding for relocation and commuting.
