Undergraduate Recruitment Student Assistant, College of Science
The Director of Undergraduate Recruiting for College of Science is looking for a student employee to assist with undergraduate recruitment efforts and daily office work. This role is flexible with the class schedule of the hired candidate.
Position Description
Assists with recruitment event preparation
Works at recruitment events including (Fall Open Houses, Spring Open House, Hokie Focus, and High School Spring Break)
Assists with managing College of Science Student Ambassador Team including attending and prepping for meetings
Helps with social media content creation and communication efforts
Prepares daily visit packets and assists with additional office needs
Required Qualifications
- Experience using Google Docs and Excel
- Experience drafting emails and other communication
- Comfortability learning new program/database (proficiency with computers)
- Comfortability talking with prospective students and families
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients on a wide range of topics
- Familiarity with Virginia Tech locations and programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience navigating and creating content for social media (i.e. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
- Experience using Adobe products (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Indesign)
- Skill in photography, videography, and graphic design
- Familiarity with the College of Science majors and minors
