Statistics Intern – Spring 2023

Overview
CASSE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of advancing the steady state economy, with stabilized population and consumption, as a policy goal with widespread public support. A variety of thinkers have signed the CASSE position statement on economic growth - from scientists and activists like Vandana Shiva to economists like 2019 Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee. We are a small organization with a big mission, and we rely heavily on our team of motivated interns.
 
The statistics intern will primarily assist with conducting statistical analysis on the correlation between economic and ecological variables. This internship is unpaid for 15-30 hours/week (or as appropriate for university internship credits) and only offered to currently enrolled college students. This position will be remote for Spring 2023.
 
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would have acute attention to detail, mastery of the English language, and a background in statistical methods. A background in ecosystem science and economics are a plus. Research experience should be demonstrated on the resume with relevant academic and/or work experience.
 
Student with interest in sustainability preferred.
 
Supervision and Logistics
Supervision: The statistics intern is supervised by the Executive Director. Given instructions and guidance, the statistics intern is expected to be knowledgeable and self-motivated.
