Purchasing Assistant Intern, Spring 2023

All this is accomplished while integrating with the operator’s Warehouse Management System, utilizing and optimizing existing facility infrastructure.


Job Description

Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Assistant (Intern) with Locus Robotics will be responsible for supporting Purchasing and Planning activities within our Supply Chain organization and beyond. The right candidate will boast a strong ambition to learn about Supply Chain and Manufacturing and display enthusiasm/experience working with mechanical and electrical components. This role is hybrid, with at least 2 days per week on-site at our Wilmington headquarters.
This fulltime intern will work January-May 2023 or January-July 2023 (depending on co-op schedule). 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Buyers with processing Purchase Requisitions
  • Contact suppliers to expedite Purchase Orders with direction from Buyers and/or Planners
  • Assist Buyers and Planners with maintaining 100% accurate Purchase Order scheduling
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy, support warehouse & production by performing cycle counts
  • Help coordinate supplier RMAs, attend weekly MRB meeting
  • Maintain weekly open supplier RMA status report
  • Coordinate with Accounting team to resolve invoicing issues


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Students currently studying Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Process Engineering preferred
  • 3+ Years work experience (part-time or internship o.k.)
  • Experience with or knowledge of key commodities such as Electro-mechanical components, PCBAs, Motors, Sheet Metal, Plastics, Castings, Extrusions, robotics
  • MS Excel skills – proficient with basic entry and formulas, advanced application functions such as pivot tables, lookups, conditional lists, macros a plus
  • Experience using Business Systems a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and remotely, as required
  • Experience with CAD/mechanical drawings a plus
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment a plus
