Software Intern

Reporting & Analytics – Software Engineering Internship (Summer 2023)

Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Investure was founded in 2003 to serve as the outsourced investment office to endowments and private foundations. Managing assets of approximately $18 billion, Investure is responsible for asset allocation and manager selection in multiple asset classes including but not limited to fixed income, global public equities, and alternative investments (hedge funds and private equity). Investure is a fast-paced, high-energy culture where there is a vast opportunity for learning. We are a mission-driven organization with a focus on continuous improvement and employee engagement and the firm operates with a hybrid schedule of three days in-office and two days of remote work.

Job Summary

The Reporting & Analytics department is a lean, cross-discipline team focused on delivering high-impact solutions in coordination with our Accounting, Client, and Investment partners.
 
Depending on an individual’s strengths, this internship would occupy one of the following areas:
·        Analytics & Modeling (Python, Julia)
·        API & Data Engineering (C#, SQL Server)
·        Data Visualization & Front-End Development (JavaScript, React)
·        DevOps (Azure)

Previous intern projects have included:  
·        Factor Analysis (Python, SQL)
·        Private Equity Visualization (React)
·        Treasury Management (React, C#)


Education, Experience & Skills

·        Applicant is a rising junior/senior majoring in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Math
·        Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming principles
·        Familiarity with any of the following is a strong plus: SQL, Python/Julia statistical packages, React
·        An interest in financial markets
·        Ability to communicate clearly internally (and in written form) insights and takeaways from investment performance results is a strong plus
·        Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
