Project Engineer

A Civil / Environmental Engineer is responsible for various functions including, but not limited to:
  • Assist and coordinate design / built projects
  • Design of landfill gas and leachate collection systems
  • Review project specifications and drawings, and perform accurate take-offs which include material determination and quantities
  • Work with vendors to obtain material pricing
  • Contact subcontractors and obtain pricing for work outside the companies abilities
  • Submit proposals on the required bid due dates/times
  • Occasional Travel to project sites across the US. Generally 1-3 day trips
  • Coordinate and manage project submittals prior to project commencement
  • Setup and coordinate material delivery between the Suppliers and AEG construction crews
  • Assist crews with any needs during the length of the project (i.e. additional materials, paperwork, client interaction)
  • Check that all field documentation is accurate and complete
  • Verify billing quantities and obtain the client’s approval on additional charges prior to submitting invoices
  • Work closely with other employees to create and maintain a TEAM environment within the entire Company
  • Communicate with clients and third party companies to ensure smooth running of projects
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with all outside contacts (clients, vendors, etc.)
 
Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant field.
  • Be able to multitask and have good time management and organizational skills
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as complete paperwork in a legible and organized manner
  • Be experienced with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD is a plus
  • Be able to use the internet to research and/or find required information
  • Be able to quickly learn other computer based software/programs
  • Must be able to read and understand project specifications and construction drawings
