Power Unit Manufacturing Engineer

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Act as Process Engineer for assigned program. The program includes oversight of controls, productivity, layout, material handling & kitting, workstation engineering, virtual assembly or manufacturing builds, washers, facilities, OEM’s, plant teams etc.) in the design, procurement, delivery and launch of all machines, equipment and processes
  • Lead resolution of manufacturing concerns and feasibility issues within the Component Program Module Team (CPMT)
  • Support DPA process for assigned component/process
  • Incorporate continuous improvements using ME Continuous Improvement / Lessons Learned, Deviation and Decision Record Process
  • Issue Purchase Requisitions for process related equipment, as assigned
  • Drive Investment Efficiency process with Product Development & OEM's
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Use Global Study Process Allocation System (GSPAS) to develop process sheets, APT Structure, Allocations and Time Studies
  • Use DCP, Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Process Illustrations, tool set up drawings
  • Provide cost estimates and achieving F&T / HPU objectives
  • Participate in Simultaneous Engineering activity with OEM's including approval of all Target Agreements
  • Be responsible for overall timing plans and recovery actions
  • Manage program status reporting for GPDS / Integrator / GSPAS Program Status / GSPAS Health Chart / 10-Panel for responsible components/assemblies
  • Attend / support all layout reviews
  • Participate in Peer Reviews – share and cascade 'Lessons Learned'
  • Lead Virtual Assembly and/or Manufacturing Builds / MA Event input and support (including deviation process & open issue resolution)
  • Manage Strategies and Bill of Process Deviation Requests / Decision Records
  • Handle the development of 'Make Like Production' (MLP) plan, tryout part coordination and runoff strategy
  • Act as the primary contact and interface for given component / process with New Programs Leader
  • Ensure supplier processes for externally purchased components are aligned with internal requirements (gauging and processing methodologies, shipping requirements)
  • Lead resolution of all issues after Build Purchase Order placement
  • Collaborate with plant teams such as the launch team, NML, skilled trades and the groups responsible for maintenance planning and spare requisitioning
  • Travel up to 10% locally


The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or pursuing and received by or before January 2022

Our Preferred Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of process engineering experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior management and with global, cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter, self-directed with validated influential, organizational and interpersonal skills
