Seagate Intern - Device Physics - Summer 2022

Location:  Bloomington, MN, US

About our group:

This Device Physics R&D Intern position is located at Seagate's R&D site in Bloomington, MN.


About the role - you will:

The intern is expected to help enhance reader model. The intern will also coordinate the work with their peer group and improve the existing reader model capability for product roadmap purposes.


About you:

  • Student pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Intern should have experience in programing language, and related academic experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.


Your experience includes:

  • Prior intern experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Micromagnetic modeling
  • Coding experience in Fortran
  • Basic knowledge on magnetic recording

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
