Seagate Electrical Engineer Summer Intern

Location:  Longmont, CO, US

About our group:

Seagate, a leader in Storage Technology, is looking to hire an Electrical Hardware Engineering Intern to join our Longmont, Colorado Design Center within the Electrical Integration Organization. The Electrical Integration Organization in Longmont is dedicated to meeting the requirements of our customers for Seagate products in our near-line, desktop, mobile, portable and consumer electronics product lines. Our Longmont facility serves as the base of operations for hard drive and solid state drive product development. The Electrical Integration Organization is focused on delivering electronics solutions encompassing: printed circuit board design, critical circuit design and analysis, product integration support, technical report writing and presentation. 


About the role - you will:

  • Learn key analysis techniques using state of the art measurement equipment including: oscilloscopes, network analyzers, arbitrary waveform generators, TDR’s (Time Domain Reflectometer), spectrum analyzers, etc 
  • Support electrical design efforts poised at product development
  • Support customer integration
  • Assist with electrical and electro-mechanical issue resolution
  • Author and discuss technical reports

Your experience includes:

  • Currently studying for BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics and enrolled in fall 2022 courses
  • Desirable to have familiarity with basic printed circuit board design techniques including: transmission line theory, RF, electrical concepts, electrical CAD and analysis tools (such as Ansys SiWave, Ansys HFSS, MatLab, HSpice, Mentor Graphics)
  • Have basic understanding of microcontroller systems
  • Ability to utilize electrical analysis equipment
 
Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base hourly range for this position: $18 – $24.50. Actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
