Seagate Customer Firmware Summer Intern

Location:  CO, US

About our group:

The Enterprise Products, Customer Firmware and Joint Qual team works with both customer facing teams and internal firmware engineering teams to release hard drive code for specific customers, quickly determine solutions to customer issues and integrate firmware features for specific customers. 


About the role - you will:

This position provides the candidate with experience in code development, bench testing on hardware and developing tools to improve how the team quickly and efficiently test and release customer hard drive code. This position is a unique opportunity to work on firmware and software development in a customer-focused team. The position reports directly to the Senior Engineering Manager.
  • Be part of a team that closely works with Seagate's internal customer team and the larger Firmware organization too.
  • Assist engineers in improving tools and quickly solving customer issues.
  • Assist with the design and development of tools using Python and JavaScript and with embedded hard drive firmware in C
  • Learn Agile methodology to development solutions collaboratively and efficiently.


About you:

  • Pursuing a degree in the field of computer science, engineering or math and must be returning to school in fall 2022.
  • Working knowledge of the Python, JavaScript and C programming language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-managing and a quick study.
  • A team player who enjoys working as part of a team of engineers


Your experience includes:

  • Basic understanding of PC architecture.
  • Able to work independently as well as contribute as a team member
  • Agile knowledge and experience
 
Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base hourly range for this position: $18-33. Actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
