Seagate Systems Integration Engineering (SIE): Firmware Testing - Summer Engineer Intern

Location:  Longmont, CO, US

About our group:

The SIE group is working in a global team environment testing and verifying Seagate Systems Firmware for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and Sustaining Programs. You will be part of the top-quality test engineering staff with a team-oriented, Scaled-Agile environment. 


About the role - you will:

Assist on the following tasks:
  • End-to-end testing of the storage products developed to deliver high-quality Seagate storage products. 
  • Testing Seagate storage products with the ability to follow test plans/instructions and procedures. 
  • Bring up test rigs per program requirements. 
  • Loading Windows and Linux OSs along with drivers, firmware, storage application and IO generation tools 
  • Configuring rigs with data switches and network switches 
  • Work under tight schedules and complete test objectives within Agile Sprint 
  • Develop, maintain, and support test case development 
  • Document test plans, test results, defect data and test reports 
  • Track defects and perform the verification to close out issues found 
  • Hands-on position working in a test lab environment

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related degree and enrolled in Fall 2022 courses
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Linux (VMware and Hyper-V is a plus) 
  • Basic knowledge of RAID 
  • Basic knowledge of the Fibre Channel, SAS and iSCSI interfaces 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Work with team leads for test planning success 
  • Ability to execute test execution and defect resolution to completion 
  • Follow the test processes and best practices 
  • Python or scripting skills desirable 
  • Knowledge of SAN and cluster configurations are desirable 
  • Experience with the Agile development process will be a plus 

Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base salary range for this position: $18-24.50. Actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
