Seagate Research Group is looking for an excellent graduate student to fill in an intern position as an Analog and Mixed Signal Electrical Engineer. Candidate need to have interests in optical, electrical and PCB design. This internship will be hands on!
About the role - you will:
Work will focus on items such as:
- Analog and Mixed Signal modelling, schematic, and layout
- Rapid prototyping of analog designs in lab
- Lab test development
- Utilization of rapid manufacturing technologies in the lab workflow (3d printing, PCB laser etching, pick & place, wirebond technologies)
- Hands-on development of embedded systems including FPGA/SoC, DRAM, Flash, PMICs, high voltages, motor control and high-speed serial interfaces
The student will have a chance to learn state of the art rapid prototyping techniques and develop (or plan) test PCBs used in opto-electronic characterization and prototype systems. All aspects of the design including high-speed digital, power transfer, ranging, PCB layouts, and thermal management will be within your purview. Ideal applicants will possess extreme breadth of knowledge as well as extraordinary depth into multiple key areas. Motivated candidates will find a treasure trove of tools and skills to add to their capabilities and make an impact in Seagate's future technologies.
You will work directly with Software, Firmware, Mechanical and Optical Engineers to realize future generations of sensors.
About you:
- Must have a MS degree, currently pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related technical discipline
- Minimum 1+ years of relevant hands-on experience
- Minimum 1+ years of experience with mixed-signal circuit design utilizing discrete components and simulation
