2022 Summer Data Analyst Intern

About Team
  • Within GM, Global Connected Services (GCS) and Customer Experience (CX) focus on providing world class customer experiences and maximizing the value delivered by connected vehicle services such as OnStar, SiriusXM and the MyBrand App. 
  • The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) operates to provide analytics, data and business intelligence support to businesses across the company.  At the intersection of these two, the CDAO business facing team leverages both business and technical knowledge to deliver value to CX and GCS. This position will partner with the business to deliver data and analytic support GCS sales and marketing initiatives. A critical component of the role is to deliver insights that enable strategic decision making and future investment.
About the Internship:
  • As an intern you will collaborate with a diverse group of individuals across I&G to complete a project
  • In the past, interns have investigated problems related to subscriber acquisition and churn, identifying clear gaps in our performance metrics, exploring root causes, articulating insights with a data-driven approach and recommending solutions to drive performance.  These are real-world problems whose solutions drive meaningful revenue for our business
  • You will support an analytical project from conception to completion with high velocity and quality, be cognizant of status, roadblocks and pace of project throughout and escalate as necessary to ensure success and on-time delivery to business partners
  • You will deliver data-driven insights and ‘tell the story’ that enables strategic and operational decisions
  • You will continuously enable to new solution trends and develop the skills for self and enable the practice to build the skills


Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business analytics, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, mathematics, applied mathematics, engineering or related quantitative field
  • Current Junior status in school graduating between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Involvement in a club(s), organization(s) or volunteer experience
  • Prior work experience is preferred

This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategies: 

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. 
Remote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis. 

The Start date for these internships’ roles are for May & June of 2022 Spring/Summer Internship

The median salary range for this position in Colorado is $4700. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to each student selected for the 2022
