Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a four (4) to eight (8) month co-op working in Environmental Projects & Services group at the Lawrenceville Electric Southern Headquarters to assist the Regulatory Programs Manager with spill response and remediation projects across Electric and Gas Operations. The position will support the Regulatory Programs Manager with program process improvements, Environmental Database development, and also support the Senior Environmental Specialists with spill remediation activities throughout the state, in addition to assisting with special projects for process improvements.



Job Responsibilities

The position's responsibilities include: Assist Environmental Projects & Services group in preparing and maintaining documentation including: 1.) Preparation and maintenance of documentation for environmental spill management including, waste manifests, spill reports, chemical analysis and environmental and regulatory reports; 2.) Assist in the development of spreadsheets and databases for the tracking of regulatory and compliance data; 3.) Assist the Environmental Regulatory Programs Manager with program management and improvements; 4.) Assist the Senior Environmental Specialists with spill response and management, and environmental log development and maintenance; 5.) Interact with other company departments, contractors and consultants to support environmental projects; 6.) Prepare charts, presentations, process flow diagrams, guidance documents. Candidate should have the desire to work in the environmental field focused on spill response, remediation, compliance and safety.
 



Job Specific Qualifications

The applicant must be an Engineering student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; or a BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Geology from an accredited institution. PSE&G recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. The Applicant must have good written and oral communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, be well organized, client focused, and demonstrate teamwork. Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint is needed. In addition, the applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, have a safe driving record and personal transportation.
All PSEG internship and co-op roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, Immigration Support will not be provided with this position.
