As part of the 24-month Ford College Graduate (FCG) rotational, developmental program you will be provided with the structure (orientation, training opportunities, experiences and feedback) to enhance your technical and professional competencies. Our goal is to support you and your transition into the robust, inclusive and engaged workforce needed to meet the product development needs of tomorrow. 
 
To begin your program, you are assigned a "home" organization based on your interests, background and our business needs. You will be assigned a mentor, a member of management within your area, to advise and guide you through a core set of developmental assignments related to your home organization. These assignments are structured to develop your skills and help to build your understanding of your home organization and the product creation process. Your development will be further supported by a number of technical and professional training opportunities. Once you complete the program, you will be placed within your home organization to continue building your engineering career and developing technical expertise. 
The software FCG program within PD evaluates students by offering them rotations in relevant and challenging assignments. The program offers an excellent opportunity to experience, learn, and implement the latest software development technologies in a highly collaborative and agile environment.

Minimum Requirements for the PD Software FCG Program: 
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree or PhD in one of the following fields: 
  • Software Engineering 
  • Computer Engineering 
  • Computer Science 
  • Engineering degrees in electrical, controls, or mechatronics 
  • A related field that employs software development skills 
  • 3.0 overall GPA minimum 
  • Graduation date by September 2022 
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience 
  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills 

Preferred Requirements: 
  • 3.4 GPA or higher 
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to work within diverse teams  
  • Experience using tools such as Unix/Linux, Oracle, MatLab, Python, Mechatronics, Simulink, multi-body simulation tools, C++, Python, AI or Machine Learning methods, etc.
