GE Nuclear Field Services Internship (Spring 2022)

GE Power is pleased to offer selected students the opportunity to join our business for an internship starting in January 2022. Students will be exposed to our GE Hitachi Nuclear business, which provides a perfect opportunity for us to learn about you and your interests and for you to learn about GE and a career with us.

Essential Responsibilities
GE Hitachi Nuclear Field Services is seeking internship candidates for its Field Services business. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with experienced field service engineers in a fast-paced challenging environment performing maintenance and inspection activities on Boiling Water Reactors. You will have the opportunity to attend entry level technical training as well as travel to a domestic nuclear refueling outage. At the outage, you will be required to gain unescorted access to the plant site and participate in outage activities. Internship Dates: Starting January 2022 and ending by May 2022 (Actual duration can vary but consider it a spring opportunity). This internship features field assignments and training in locations remote to Wilmington. Interns can expect to travel 50-75% of the time of their internship to locations domestically in the US with larger work teams to represent GE Hitachi.

Qualifications/Requirements
Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate program with an engineering discipline as your primary major

Must be able to take and pass a drug test as part of the selection process
Must be willing to submit to a comprehensive background investigation as part of the selection process
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to be granted unescorted access at a commercial nuclear power plant
Must possess a valid US driver's license
Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time during the specified internship period

Eligibility Requirement
GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen. To be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 USC § 1101(a)(2) and 8 USC § 1324b(a)(3).
