Role Summary / Purpose
This engineering role designs and develops electronic hardware solutions for real-time control applications in the power generation industry. You will work with a cross-functional, highly skilled team to create and improve a state-of-the-art platform for use in every kind of power generation application, including wind, solar, battery storage, gas, steam, and hydro-electric.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and validate electronic circuit board solutions for industrial control and communications
- Design, program and validate FPGA-based solutions for interfacing real-time microprocessor systems to high speed networks and I/O
- Execute the design, analysis and/or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Provide technical support for field issues
- Maintain products across their functional lifecycle
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college
Desired Characteristics
- Digital and analog circuit design expertise
- Passion for learning and desire for a technical career path
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4 or more years of industry experience
- Experience developing FPGA solutions, preferably utilizing Altera and/or Xilinx tool chains
- Familiarity with Cadence tool chain
- Familiarity with Verilog HDL
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Strong interpersonal skills
