Role Summary / Purpose
This engineering role designs and develops electronic hardware solutions for real-time control applications in the power generation industry. You will work with a cross-functional, highly skilled team to create and improve a state-of-the-art platform for use in every kind of power generation application, including wind, solar, battery storage, gas, steam, and hydro-electric.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Design and validate electronic circuit board solutions for industrial control and communications
  • Design, program and validate FPGA-based solutions for interfacing real-time microprocessor systems to high speed networks and I/O
  • Execute the design, analysis and/or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical support for field issues
  • Maintain products across their functional lifecycle

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college

Desired Characteristics
  • Digital and analog circuit design expertise
  • Passion for learning and desire for a technical career path
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 4 or more years of industry experience
  • Experience developing FPGA solutions, preferably utilizing Altera and/or Xilinx tool chains
  • Familiarity with Cadence tool chain
  • Familiarity with Verilog HDL
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
