2022 Spring Tax Internship / Co-op

Calling all Accounting Majors that are two years away from 150! We are looking for interns to join us during the Spring of 2022 to learn about Tax. We are anticipating a hybrid internship, where we can have some students working remote if they are outside of the Richmond area.

Our unique internship showcases our clients, our staff, our beautiful city, and our commitment to our community. All summer interns receive an orientation to our systems and our firm. Each intern will spend their time in Tax. In Tax interns will experience preparing returns, conducting research, and sharing their findings.

Prior intern fun has included:
  • Lunches, department meetings, informative tax training
  • Volunteer Day at a local food bank which is one of our clients
  • Participation in the Keiter Busy Season events, such as Firm meals, massage day, puppy day, mindfulness/meditation and yoga sessions, workout groups, and more!

For our 2020 and 2021 Spring Internships:  Our Spring interns in 2020 transitioned to working remotely along with the rest of the firm. Additionally, we were able to host both of our summer 2020 internships virtually for 5 weeks.
  • We mailed each intern a laptop, monitor and work from home materials
  • Had a week of virtual New Hire Orientation where we trained our interns on Audit and Tax software
  • Provided the interns two weeks in each department where they were able to do client work
  • Hosted virtual events, training, success factor series and games to showcase Keiter culture

Qualifications:

  • Working towards one of the following: Undergraduate/graduate/post-baccalaureate degree in accounting

  • At least one semester of an intermediate level accounting class

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong computer skills, including financial spreadsheet (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word)

  • Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and in taking the CPA exam
