Tax or Audit Associate -- Fall 2022

If you choose the Tax path, you can expect to:

• Prepare personal, corporate trust, non-profit and partnership tax returns of varying complexities, including organizing a file of supporting documentation; prepare a variety of amended returns

• Review tax information submitted by client for completeness

• Make adjusting entries and complete trial balances in order to prepare a tax return

• Prepare payroll tax (1099s, W-2s), sales tax, and other local tax returns

 
If you choose the Audit path, you can expect to:

• Perform basic accounting and auditing related tasks

• Prepare and index working papers; perform various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters

• Perform or assist in the counting and recording of cash, inventories, merchandise, supplies, and other assets

• Review, document, and evaluate internal controls

• Participate in planning and scheduling client engagements

• Prepare audit, review, and/or compilation work programs

Qualifications:

•Undergraduate/graduate/post-baccalaureate degree in accounting

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong computer skills, including financial spreadsheet (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word)

• Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and in taking the CPA exam.
