Job Description

Spring/Summer 2021 Internship
This is a remote position, the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.
General Purpose of Position:
Develop skills in Fabricating automotive vehicles or other products where decisions are made with engineering practices. Follow and work on the build of both running and nonrunning models in Design Fabrication. Support world-class fabrication techniques in a custom fabrication facility working on both interior and exterior models. Integrate customer focused needs and brand differentiation into all aesthetic proposals. You will learn techniques in the fabrication of these models. The internship will allow you to learn all materials used in our Design Fabrication including: Metal, Wood, fiberglass, 3D printed parts and Soft Trim
  
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fabricating metal, wood and trim using basic machinery – band saw, drill press, and hand tools.
  • Use engineering prints to fabricate small components and models use in the builds
  • Work with Skilled Trades, Studio Engineers, modelers, other designers in the development of new ideas in building show and concept ideas.
  • Work with skilled trades personal on short projects during the internship and be part of the fabrication team.
  • Present at end of your internship to leadership your experience in the Design Fabrication Shops and your learnings.

Education and Training:
Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in the following:
  • Engineering Technology Degree
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science
  • Skilled Trades program through accredited school

The median level of the monthly salary compensation for this role is $4500 dependent upon class status and degree. Benefit options are not available for this role.
