I am able to assist customers with daily deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments regarding their accounts. I enjoy daily interaction with my customers and getting a greater understanding for their needs.

I enjoyed the responsibility that was given to me as an intern. I wasn’t getting coffee and running errands for my manager I was given tasks as any full time employee would have.

What I wish was different

I wish we could have worked more than 40hrs a week to earn overtime pay.

What I liked

Incredible exposure to the inner workings of the oil and gas industry, specifically with regards to oil and gas corporate finance and modeling. Team oriented work style, tons of PowerPoint and excel work, and really great people to work with.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more interaction with senior bankers and would have liked to try other industries instead of solely focusing on energy.

Advice

Take advantage of the networking opportunities that arise and spend a couple of extra hours in the office getting extra reps in

Helps to have an Excel background coming in. Longer hours than expected (12-14 hr. days). Very social job - be prepared to spend lots of time networking / talking with others.

Commercial Banking Summer Analyst

What I liked

I loved all of the training and learning opportunities that were made available to interns. I got to travel to the new Plano campus and the Chicago office to meet interns from all over the nation. I also enjoyed all of the assignments that interns were given, some team based, some individual. All of the higher ups were also always excited to answer questions and give advice.

What I wish was different

I wish there were a few more opportunities to work with other departments to see other sides of the business.

Ask questions! Never feel like you are asking a dumb question because all of the higher ups love when interns display curiosity and willingness to learn.
